We want to bring the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) to Dublin. We’re asking for your support to make it happen.

Bidding to host a Worldcon costs money. If you can, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support with our costs. If you support at the Friend level or above, you’ll also be entitled to an attending member supplement, should our bid be successful.

What is Worldcon?
Worldcon is the world’s leading celebration of science fiction creativity, community and culture.
It’s also the home of the annual Hugo Awards ceremony – the most prestigious prize in SF – recognising the year’s most outstanding achievements in science fiction and fantasy.
Above all, Worldcon aims to be a fun, fascinating and inclusive event where fans from all countries, backgrounds and walks of life can come together as a community.
We want to bring Worldcon to Dublin from 2 to 6 August, 2029.

Why Dublin?
Dublin is a vibrant European capital city with a fascinating history, unmissable attractions, renowned hospitality and a thriving arts, music and cultural scene. It’s also easily reachable from around the globe and has world-class conference and event facilities, making it ideally suited to host Worldcon in 2029.
The city is also perfectly placed to engage with the thriving SF fan community in Ireland, Europe and beyond.
Dublin hosted the 77th World Science Fiction Convention in 2019, welcoming thousands of fans as well as some of the most exciting authors, artists and creators in SF to the city for five unforgettable days. We’re determined to make Worldcon 2029 even bigger, better and more memorable.
